TEHRAN, April 11 (Mehr News Agency) -- Curtains will go up for a joint concert by a number of Iranian musicians and members from the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra at the Delacia church in Madrid tomorrow.
Cosponsored by the Persepolis Cultural Center in Madrid and Riksscenen, Norwegian hub for traditional music and dance, the program is being held to commemorate Persian mystic and classical poet Molana Jalal ad-Din Rumi.
Iranian vocalist Salar Aqili and his fellow men Behnam Samani, Reza Samani, and Shahram Gholami, and Davud Varzideh, along with Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra musicians Odd Hannisdal, Elisabeth Eid, Gro LÝvdahl, Cardas Emery, and Marius Flatby will be performing pieces composed by the U.S.-based Iranian santur virtuoso Javid Afsari-Rad for the program.
The band had previously performed the concert in Oslo in autumn 2007, which was warmly welcomed by Norwegian audiences. However, two new pieces of Afsari-Rad have been scheduled for tomorrow performance.
