World Shin Do Kumate Association Announces Master Mehrdad Muay Thai Classic XVIII

Tampa Bay, Fla. - Martial Artists & Muay Thai Kickboxers will come face to face on Saturday for the exhilarating Championship edition of The Master Mehrdad Muay Thai Classic XVIII.  This event will feature male and female of true Martial Artists of all ages from top Martial Arts and Muay Thai backgrounds from around the state of Florida, including the Tampa Bay area.

This event was founded by Master Mehrdad, a professional Martial Arts fighter and CEO of the televised and internationally syndicated Shin Do Kumaté professional fighting event, the first professional full contact fighting event sanctioned by the State of Florida in 2002.  Pro sports can't possibly exist without amateur athletics being the supporting mechanism to build professional athletes.  Master Mehrdad's Muay Thai Classic builds amateur competitors working towards a future in the professional world of Full Contact Martial Arts & Muay Thai Fighting.  

As an 8th Dan Black Belt, Master Mehrdad has studied traditional martial arts for over 35 years and founded World Shin Do Kumaté Association sixteen years ago.  He is an old school Martial Artist who recognized the need for legitimate fighting organizations in order to provide mainstream exposure for full contact fighters and allow Martial Artists the opportunity to be regarded as true athletes and skilled fighters.  To learn more about the founder, please visit

This exciting event promotes a variety of styles of Martial Arts Participant joins children and adult Martial Artists from such disciplines as Kung-Fu, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai (Thai Boxing), Kickboxing and other styles against one another in single elimination bouts.  The event is sanctioned by World Shin Do Kumaté Association, Inc.

Rules for the Master Mehrdad Muay Thai Classic allow kicks to the head; body and legs, as well as conventional boxing and all bouts are fought in a standard boxing ring using boxing gloves.

Featured Fighters include Shahnaz Moayedi, who is a 13 year old John Hopkins Middle School student.  Shahnaz is a brown belt in Martial Arts, Also Muay Thai (Thai boxing) and has 13 fights and is undefeated with 10 years experience.  Her last opponent was a 30 year old female fighter, which she beat on an exciting judges' decision.  Her sister, Soudabah Moayedi, a brown belt with 10 years in Martial Arts/Muay Thai, is another stand out female fighter, who at the age of 15 has a stellar record of 11-2.  Soudabah is the Super Lightweight Champion of the Master Mehrdad Muay Thai Classic, in which she defeated her opponent who was 26 years old.  Soudabah is a freshman at Northeast High School.
