Madrid, April 19, IRNA - Trade between Iran and Spain reached three billion euros in the past Iranian year ended March 20, 2008, Iranian Ambassador to Madrid said on Saturday.
Davoud Salehi Monfared said that the trade exchanges between the two countries have always enjoyed an ascending trend.
"The total trade between the two countries reached 1.4 billion euros in 2004," he said.
In an interview with the Spanish Diplomatic Magazine, the ambassador recalled that there is no hindrance on the way of bolstering bilateral ties.
Referring to the 600-year-old bilateral relationship, Salehi Monfared noted that the two countries' relations are based on cordial ties.
"Iranian nation has a positive viewpoint about the spanish people," he said, voicing the Islamic Republic readiness in expanding bilateral ties in political, cultural, economic and social fields.
Referring to Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, he stressed that the Islamic Republic has always emphasized the peaceful nature of its nuclear activities within frameworks of the United Nations nuclear watchdog's regulations and its safeguards.
"Iran got a clean bill from the International Atomic Energy Agency on February 22," he said.
Given to the popularity of Iran's cinema in the Spain, the ambassador underlined that Iran has took part in all film festivals in Spain.
