Tehran,
April 19, IRNA --The 18th international conference on the Persian Gulf will be
held in Iran on June 16-17, it was reported on Saturday.
The Foreign Ministry's Bureau for International and Political Studies said in a
statement that participants of the confab would discuss ways to promote regional
cooperation with the aim of bolstering stability and security in the sensitive
region.
Organizers of the conference (at the Foreign Ministry) hoped that the gathering
would help find new ways for effective convergence and cooperation among
regional states.
Iranian and foreign experts and intellectuals are to discuss ways to confront
threats and challenges facing the Persian Gulf region, economic cooperation
between regional states, security in Iraq and the role the regional media could
play to increase regional cooperation, the statement said.
Promoting regional stability and security is a must given the rapid developments
