Press TV -- Turkmen foreign minister in his meeting with Iran's ambassador to Ashgabat has said his country is ready to resume gas exports to Iran.

Rashid Moradov in his talks with Mohammad-Reza Forqani said Turkmenistan's gas exports to Iran will resume soon.

The two sides also exchanged views on bilateral relation in various sectors including agriculture.

Iran uses Turkmen gas supply mainly for consumption in its northeastern region, which is far from the country's southern gas fields and closer to those of Turkmenistan.

The country struggled with freezing temperatures last winter, unprecedented in decades, when Turkmen gas delivery was halted on December 29.
