SHANGHAI, China, Apr. 27 (Mehr News Agency) -- Homa Hosseini has secured an Olympic berth in the Women's Heavyweight Single Sculls at the Shanghai Water Sports Centre on Sunday.

The rower is the first Iranian women who will participate in rowing at the Olympics.

Hosseini came in fourth place in Group A and took Iran's second quota in rowing.

Iran's Mohsen Shadi reached the final round of men's single sculls on Saturday to secure the first 2008 Beijing Olympic berth in Iran's sailing history.

Rowing Olympic competitions will be kicked off on August 9, 2008.
