Tehran, April 28, IRNA -- Iran's national football team received an official invitation from the US soccer federation to travel for two friendly games in the United States, it was reported on Monday.
The Public Relations Office of Iran's Football Federation said in a statement that the US Club Soccer Lablues will host the Iranian team during their 10-day stay in the US which is expected to take place from June 23 to July 3.
The Iranian national team faces a busy summer as it has to be prepared for 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
It was previously reported that the US popular Los Angeles Galaxy team has asked for a friendly game with Iranians.
"We will surely play Galaxy in case of receiving an official invitation from the US soccer federation," head of the Relations Committee of IFF, Hassan Ghaffari, told reporters.
The English international midfielder David Beckham is also a member of the LA Galaxy.
The Iranian and US teams have previously played in the 1998 World Cup, when the Iranian players defeated their rival 2-1 in France.
