Tehran, Aug. 2, IRNA - Iran's national basketball team raked fourth at the Diamond Cup men's basketball tournament in Nanjing, China on Saturday.
China beat the Iranian side 75-46 to take third place in the competition the same day.
The Iranian team lost its first match 81-71 to Argentina on Tuesday but shocked the basketball world with its 72-70 win over Serbia on Wednesday.
Iran's basketball team is preparing to compete with Argentina, Lithuania, Russia and Australia in Group A of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games which will be held from August 8-24.
The Group B consists of China, Angola and Australia.
The Diamond Cup is considered as a warm-up for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
The Iranian team includes Mehdi Kamrani, Amir Amini, Javad Davari, Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami, Hamed Afaq, Iman Zandi, Saeed Davar- Panah, Hamed Hadadi, Oshin Sahakian, Hamed Sohrab-Nejad, Mossa Nabi- Pour and Mohamamd Doraqi.
The basketball squad is the first Iranian team to arrive in Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games.
