The
Iranian Greco-Roman wrestlers exited the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games with no
medals.
Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Qasem Rezaei was defeated by Mindaugas Ezerskis of
Lithuania on Thursday. The Lithuanian wrestler beat Rezaei 2-1 in the 96 kg
category.
Iranian Greco-Roman wrestler Masoud Hashemzadeh also suffered a 2-0 defeat to
his Russian rival, Hassan Bareov, in the 120 kg class on the same day.
Hashemzadeh quit the fight for the bronze medal due to a knee injury.
Iran's Saman Tahmasbi, who beat his Ukrainian opponent Oleksandr Daragan in the
84 kg category, lost his second encounter 2-0 to Turkey's Nazmi Avluca.
