The 12th Mobarak International Puppet Theater Festival was held in Tehran from August 10-16. This year, 25 works were competing in the stage play section. Also, seven foreign plays with six Iranian works were competing at the international section. There were also 17 street plays.

A puppeteer performs a show with Mobarak, an Iranian national character, during the opening ceremony of the 12th Mobarak International Puppet Theater Festival at Tehran's City Theater Complex on August 9.

The City Theater Complex, Sangalaj Hall, as well as Honar and Ferdowsi halls played host to the plays.
