The supervisory media board in Iran shut down the youth publication Hamshahri Javan after it published an article about love, Fars News Agency reported.

Fars quoted sources close to the board that said the move followed publication of articles that promoted "intimate relations" between young girls and boys. The publisher of Hamashahri Javan has also been summoned to court.

Farid Haddad-Adel, the weekly's editor, said the ban is related to an article on love, which was published a few months ago. He also urged officials to revise their decision.

Hamshahri Javan, a weekly, is part of the Hamshahri family of publications, which is run by the municipality of Tehran.
