Abbas Kowsari has changed the face of photojournalism in Iran. His unique angles and personal vision capture the sorrows, joys and memories of a nation in a constant state of flux. His work is imbued with his special human touch and empathy combined with sharp observations of Iranian society. Shying away from the limelight Kowsari chooses to follow his favorite journalists from one banned publication to the next. His strength and perseverance is an example of women and men who despite obstacles, are pushing the boundaries by contributing to one of the liveliest media scenes in the world today. It's high time to take a moment and appreciate his work away from every day bustle of life in Iran.
