Farhad Aiish has employed Iranian cinema
stars Shahab Hosseini and Ateneh Faqih-Nasiri for his adaptation of the play
"Rhinoceros". "It is not uncommon for movie stars to act in a play and
so, I'm announcing that I'm using them to be successful at the box office and
I'm really not afraid to admit that," he mentioned during a press conference at
the City Theater.
"Eugène Ionesco is one of my favorite dramatists. His play 'Rhinoceros' has a
long script so I rewrote it, but I tried to be faithful to the original," he
added.
\
"Rhinoceros" can be considered from different points of view and no doubt, the
audience will have their own interpretation of the play, he mentioned.

"Rhinoceros" is a play by Eugène Ionesco, written in 1959. The play belongs to
the school of drama known as the Theatre of the Absurd. Over the course of three
acts, the inhabitants of a small, provincial French town turn into rhinoceroses.
Ultimately, the only human who does not succumb to this mass metamorphosis is
the central character, Bérenger, a flustered everyday figure who is often
criticized throughout the play for his drinking and tardiness.
