Tehran, Dec 5, IRNA - Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Friday harshly criticized the UAE for its recent anti-Iran claims and called on the emirates to disavow policies of the "bankrupt" extremists in Washington and London.
"I am surprised over the UAE trying to serve as the US and the UK tribune in the region. I recommend the UAE to draw a distinction between its stances and those of the failed extremists in Washington and London, thus contributing to regional convergence and engagement through feeling more responsible," said Mottaki.
The outgoing US President George W. Bush and the UK Foreign Secretary David Milliband in their recent UAE visit raised tough claims against Iran.
The divisive claims hence resulted in dlrs 30 billion arms sales to regional states.
