TEHRAN, Dec. 06 (ISNA)-A large number of Iranian sedans including Samand, Peugeots Roa, Peugeots Pars and Bardo pickup truck are to be produced in Senegalese Seniran Auto plant and be delivered to West African markets following the Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade's offer.
The Managing Director of Iran Khodro Industrial Group Manouchehr Manteqi taking part in the Senegalese Seniran Auto firm inauguration said Iran Khodro plans to run car production sites in other countries to expand car exports.
The Iranian company has selected Senegal as a center for its productions due to the particular position of the country, its closeness to seven countries and its political and economic cooperation with the neighbors.
Manteqi also noted some foreign companies are taking part in the plant project to produce their own cars in Seniran Auto firm.
The Managing Director said Iran has exported some 2000 Samand taxies to be used in Senegalese public transportation system.
Meanwhile he also moved to running Samand sedan assembly line in Senegal which has cost 60 million dollars and said 60 percent of the investment is made by Iran and the rest by Senegalese public and private sectors.
Samand sedan is now being produced in Senegal with the name of Mandori, Manteqi said.
