Tehran, Dec 8, IRNA - Ecuadorian President, Rafael Correa Delgado, was officially seen off by his Iranian counterpart President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Sunday evening.
At the official ceremony which was held at the presidential palace, the national anthems of both countries were played and the two presidents reviewed the guard of honor.
President Delgado, heading a high-ranking delegation arrived in Tehran Friday evening.
During his stay, President Delgado reviewed issues of mutual interest as well as the latest regional and international developments during his separate meetings with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, President Ahmadinejad, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, and several other officials.
Ecuadorian president also visited several industrial sites.
Ecuador's ministers of oil and mines, foreign affairs, agriculture and defense were accompanying President Delgado in his first visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Ecuadorian delegation is to proceed from Tehran to the ancient city of Isfahan and the industrial region of Assalouyeh in the southern province of Khuzestan later in the day.
The documents were signed in a ceremony attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his visiting counterpart from Ecuador, Rafael Correa Delgado.
The letters required Tehran and Quito to cooperate in industrial and mining field as well as construction of cement factory and power plants.
The two countries would also cooperate in the fields of banking, oil, pharmaceutical, shipping and commercial activities.
