TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran finished in sixth place in the 2nd World Junior Wushu Championships held in Bali, Indonesia.
Fatemeh Bastami in under 60 kg class won the gold medal after defeating her Romanian rival in sanshou (fighting).
Akbar Mohammadzadeh, the under 52 kg athlete, came first in the sanshou by beating the Vietnamese representative.
In under 70 kg class, Sajjad Abbasi knocked the South Korean out and snatched gold.
And Hamidreza Lador won the championship by beating the Egyptian wushu athlete in the under 80 kg.
The second World Wushu Junior Championships closed on Saturday with traditional power China leading the medal table with 16 golds and two silvers.
Japan and the host Indonesia were second and third respectively in the medal table.
A total of 700 athletes and officials from 45 countries and regions competed in the four-day event.
The third Junior Wushu World Championships will be held in Singapore in 2010.
