TEHRAN, Dec. 23 (Mehr News Agency) - Iran has exported 7.805 million tons of petrochemical products worth about $6 billion in the first nine months of the Iranian calendar year (began March 20, 2008).
According to a report released on Tuesday by Iran Petrochemical Commercial Company, the exports in the ninth Iranian calendar month of Azar (Nov. 21-Dec. 20), hit 497,000 tons.
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) with 20.9 percent of the total exports, equaling 1.671 million tons, was the major export-bound product, PIN reported.
Ethanol's exports stood second to LNG by 1.542 million tons.
Iran is speculated to produce 25 million tons of petrochemical products by the end of current calendar year (March 20, 2009), of which 13 million tons would be exported.
