RASHT, Gilan, Dec. 26 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran football team in World Cup 1998 France beat the "Selection of Gilan" 4-1 in a benefit match held at the "Shahid Azodi" Stadium in Rasht, north of Iran, on Friday.

The match was judged by Saeid Mozaffarizadeh with the aim of raising money for the release of Mehrdad Zohari from prison.

The Iranian footballer was jailed after killing some people in a car accident.

This charity game was watched by almost 7,000 spectators in a rainy weather.

Alireza Mansourian, Ali Asghar Modirrusta(two times) and Ali Akbar Ostadasadi got themselves on the scoresheet for the former Iran national team, and Mohammadian scored from the penalty spot for the selection of Gilan.
