Iran defeated by Spain's Galicia team

TEHRAN, Dec. 28 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran's football team lost to Galicia selection 3-2 in a friendly at the Riazor Stadium in Coruna, Spain, on Saturday.

Glasgow Rangers' Nacho Novo struck twice in the 23rd and 59th minutes for the hosts. Arash Borhani pulled a goal back 13 minutes before the halftime.

Oscar Losada rubbed salt in Iran's wounds in the 65th minute from the penalty spot. Mohammad Reza Khalatbari's 82nd minute goal was not enough for Ali Daei's side to equalize the match.

Iran was originally scheduled to play Basque football team on December 23 at the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao but the team's officials cancelled it because of a quarrel between their players. Iran played Galicia selection instead of the team.

Iran players : Mehdi Rahmati (46' Vahid Talebloo) - Hossein Kabi (80' Pejman Montazeri), Mohsen Bengar (46' Jalal Hosseini), Piruz Ghorbani, Hassan Ashjari (55' Pejman Nouri) - Majid Gholamnejad (78' Ehsan Hajsafi), Maziar Zare (55' Kianush Rahmati), Mohammad Nouri (65' Meysam Bao), Mohammad Reza Khalatbari (83' Reza Khaleghifar) - Gholamreza Rezaei (80' Mehdi Seyyed Salehi), Arash Borhani (64' Jalal Rafkhaei).
