TEHRAN, Feb. 4 (Mehr News Agency) -- A discussion session on Ruhollah Hejazi's "Amid the Clouds" was held on Sunday at the Sahra Cinema Hall.
The director, screenwriter Mohammadreza Gohari, cinematographer Farshad Mohammadi, actor Afshin Hashemi and actress Elnaz Shakerdust attended the session which was held to review the movie screened earlier that day for reporters at the Sahra Hall. The film is an entry in the national competition section of the 26th Fajr Film Festival.
Hejazi first gave a brief talk about his previous short films and TV series, saying, "First-time directors always face problems when making movies. Actors have little trust in them, and there are few facilities available for them. But on the whole, I am content with the result."
On choosing the cast, he explained, "Initially I decided to choose a renowned actor for the main role, but later on when I met Afshin Hashemi, I realized he was just the right person for the part."
He went on to say, "The screenplay dictated that we make use of little known actors, and the movie only stars the famous actress Elnaz Shakerdust in the role of Nura. The rest of the cast were selected from amongst stage actors."
Screenwriter Gohari continued that the story took shape whilst they were on a journey to southern Iran and it actually begins in Shalamcheh in Khuzestan Province.
Shakerdust commented that the presence of a well-known actor in these types of movies helps attract audiences, adding that she had liked the role of Nura and that she had performed it with love.
Ali Samadpur, who composed the film's scores, said that the project had been a positive experience for him, adding, "I was able to make a connection between Iranian and Arab music."
