TEHRAN, Feb. 4 (Mehr News Agency) – The number of Iranians having access to Internet amounts 18 million connecting from homes, universities, or via the General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) of cell phones, ISNA quoted the managing director of Iranian Information Technology Company (ITC) as saying on Monday.
Saeed Mahdioon said that presently 1218 cities and 5426 villages of the country are connected to Internet Service Providers accounting for 27 percent of the country's population, predicting the figure to reach 30 percent within the next two years.
