Shiraz, Fars Prov, Feb 8, IRNA - No fatality and damage were left from the four consecutive quakes shaking two cities of southern province of Fars from late Thursday until Friday morning.
Secretary of the Natural Disasters Headquarters in Fars Province Hamid Taqizadeh told IRNA Friday that having being informed of the first quake, the Islamic Republic of Iran's Red Crescent Society, the emergency and provincial officials had rushed to the site of the incident to forward immediate assistance to the victim(s), if any.
Taqizadeh said the quakes had inflicted minor damage to the less resistant and old buildings.
Fars Seismographic Network, affiliated to the State Seismology Center of Tehran University's Geophysics Institute reported three quakes with a magnitude range of 3.6, 3.7 and 4.2 degrees on the Richter scale, hitting provincial city of Oz from 22:25 pm (18:55 GMT) and 23:45 pm (20:15 GMT) to 23:50 pm (20:20 GMT) consecutively on Thursday.
The fourth and last in the series was a 3.5-degree tremor, which was felt in the provincial city of Mohr at 00:18 am (20:48 GMT) Friday.
