TEHRAN, Feb. 22 (Mehr News Agency) - Japan's Ministry of Finance reported on Friday that the country witnessed a rise in its imports from Iran and a drop in exports in January 2008.
According to IRNA, Japan has totally imported 149.455 billion yen ($1.389 billion) worth of Iranian-made products last month, showing a 91 percent growth over the same month in 2007.
Crude oil was the major imported commodity, the ministry said.
In the same period, Japan exported 12.162 billion yen ($109.5 million) worth of goods to Iran, a 5.1 percent drop compared to January 2007.
