Chalous, Mazandaran Prov, Feb 26, IRNA - The part of Iran's South-North Karaj-Chalous Road in Mazandaran Province was blocked as of 7 pm Monday till further notice due to heavy snow storm and threat of falling avalanches.

According to a Monday night report from Karaj-Chalous Freeway Patrol, the Police Road Keepers and concerned Ministry of Roads and Transportation personnel are currently trying their best to clear the road and reopen it amid severe atmosphere of the mountainous wounding road.

The Freeway Patrol has suggested those citizens who intend to travel through that road to call Police Public Relations at 141, or seek information round the clock about the country's entire roads and freeways calling their intelligent phone number 88 92 52 52 before beginning their trips.

The latter number in addition to presenting information on status of Iranian road, is capable of suggesting the shortest routes between city and a certain destination, the length of the route, and the length between each two cities in that route.
