Tehran, Feb 27, IRNA - Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini here on Wednesday condemned the US administration's refusal for a second consecutive year to issue visas to Iranian women to attend a specialized meeting on women.
The spokesman said the Iranian delegation was to provide the meeting with authentic, documented and executive reports on allocation of necessary budgets for women's specialized activities but regretfully, due to the hostile approach of the US statesmen, it failed to materialize its goal.
He said the US officials' procrastination in allowing Iranian women delegation to attend the 52nd Women Commission session, which could be a valuable chance for consultation and interaction of Iranian women with other participants, showed their approach was in contradiction with freedom of expression and their claims of advocating women's rights.
Hosseini said the time has come to think about moving the head offices of international organizations from the US territory due to repetition of such hostile acts, which are in contradiction with consular conventions.
He added that effective and speedy measures should be taken in reaction to the US government's hostile behaviors.
