Tehran, Jan 4, IRNA - A foreign company would be the producer of Iranian renowned director Ja'far Panahi's new film, 'Repatriate".
Panahi who has not made films for two years won Berlin International Film Festival's Golden Bear Award for his last film "Offside" two years ago.
`Repatriate' film script found its foreign investor when it was presented at the side event of Holland's Rotterdam International Film Festival the "Cinemart".
Five hundred and fifty film scripts were applying for foreign investors at that market, out of which 39 managed to sell.
Another Iranian film script by another renowned Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami, namely "Duplicate Equals Original" was also bought by the French cinematography company 'Emi K2' at Cinemart.
Iranian director Seyfollah Samadian's new film "Iranian Cannes" is being prepared to be screened at renowned world film festivals.
According to IRNA Cultural Desk, the editing of the ten episode documentary film is half finished now.
Focusing on the issue, Samadian told IRNA, "The Iranian Cannes is exclusively prepared for foreign film festivals."
He further elaborated, "Editing of this film began about a month ago and each of its episodes is allocated to one of the renowned Iranian movie directors and cinematographers."
The Iranian director added, "The Iranian Cannes is meanwhile a report on ten years of the Iranian cinema's successful presence at the International Cannes Film Festival, aimed at reflecting that success at other international events worldwide."
Samadian said that his film will not be ready to be screened at this year's International Fajr Film Festival in Iran, but as soon as it would be completed he would forward it to as many Iranian and foreign festivals as possible for being screened.
