Tehran, Jan 6, IRNA - The cabinet on Sunday announced that all government offices, universities and schools would be closed in Tehran both on Monday and Tuesday due to 'continued heavy snowfall and drop in temperatures' in the coming days.

In a statement, a copy of which was made available to IRNA, the cabinet however declared that banks, medicare centers as well as the presidential and ministerial offices will not be closed.

It cited the reason for the closure as saving energy and congestion on streets and roads.
