TEHRAN, Jan. 13 (Mehr News Agency) - Non-oil exports, if gas condensates included, have fetched Iran $16.561 million in the first nine months of the current year (started March 21), the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) reported in Tehran on Sunday.
The figure shows a 23.3 percent rise in terms of value in comparison to that of corresponding period in its previous year.
In terms of weight, the country exported 32.563 million tons of non-oil products in nine months, a 16.6 percent growth, IRICA said.
IRICA put the gas condensates exports in the period at $5.108 billion, indicating a 48.8 percent increase from 2006.
Of non-oil exports, if gas condensates excluded, $42.67 million was related to carry-on-luggage exports and $254.43 million was sent via border markets.
IRICA added Iran imported 28.882 million tons of products valued at $33.027 billion within the nine months, showing a 5.8 percent drop and an 8.9 percent rise in terms of weight and value respectively.
The country finished 22nd in 2007 world rankings, witnessing a 1.32 percent growth when compared to the figure of 2006, some 2.04 million tons.
About raw steel, Iran's output reached 10 million tons in 2007, indicating a 2.16 percent rise from 2006, ranking 19th in the world.
