"We are delighted about Madame solouki's return to France," foreign ministry spokeswoman Pascale Andreani said Friday.
According to the French foreign ministry, Iran allowed her to leave the country on Friday, the Associated Press reported.
Solouki, an Iranian-French filmmaker, arrived in Iran in December 2006 to make a documentary about the eight-year Iran-Iraq imposed war.
She was detained by authorities in February of 2007 after interviewing relatives of members of the Mujahedin Khalq Organization. She was released in March but remained under house arrest.
The Mujahedin Khalq Organization assisted Saddam in the massacre of thousands of innocent Iraqis. The group has also carried out several terrorist acts in Iran.
