TEHRAN, Jan. 19 (Mehr News Agency) -- Nine of Iran's top ten target countries for non-oil product imports were Asian countries during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21, 2007), the director of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran announced here on Saturday.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) imported $1.671 billion of Iranian non-oil products during the time period.
The other eight are Iraq, which imported $1.164 billion of Iranian non-oil products during the time period, China ($894 million), Japan ($738 million), India ($574 million), Turkey ($412 million), Italy ($408 million), Afghanistan ($341 million), South Korea ($339 million), and Kuwait ($292 million), the Fars News Agency quoted Mehdi Ghazanfari as saying.
The UAE was the leading exporter to Iran, exporting $7.422 billion of goods to the Islamic Republic, followed by Germany at $3.862 billion.
