A competition called "In Memory of the Pen" has been organized in Iran in memory of Mehran Ghassemi, an Iranian journalist who died at the age of 30. Last day to apply is Feb 20.

The competition is open to all young journalists, bloggers and writers. In the free writing competition category, any articles on Iranian society published in the last six months will be accepted. Submissions should be between 800 and 1000 words and should be sent to Massih Alinejad at masih_pooyan@yahoo.com.

Mehran Ghassemi was a renowned journalist, translator and editor for Etemad Melli newspaper. He died of a heart attack in Tehran this month.
