Press TV - Iran's ambassador to China says the value of trade between Iran and China is on the rise and may surpass $25 billion this year.
The volume of trade between the two countries stood at more than $20 billion in 2007 and is expected to grow by 25 percent this year to surpass $25 billion, said Javad Mansouri in an interview with China Radio International.
Trade between Iran and China began to grow at an accelerating pace after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, he said.
The ambassador cited the 'positive outlook' that Iran and China have toward each other as the reason for their growing commercial ties and added that both sides have long been familiar with each other's history and culture.
Mansouri noted that Iran and China have ample potential for further expansion of their trade ties in the future, saying that there is 'no obstacle' to the growth of bilateral trade.
The Iranian ambassador to China also wished Beijing success in hosting the Olympic Games which are to begin August 8.
