Tehran, July 4, IRNA - An earthquake measuring 5.3 degrees on open-ended Richter scale shook the vicinity of Kadekan in center of Razavi Khorassan Province Friday morning.
Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 03:40 hours local time (11:10 GMT).
The tremor was epicentered in an area located 35.53 degrees in longitude and 58.81 degrees in latitude.
The same region jolted with another quake measuring 3.7 richter at :13 pm local time, Thursday, with no casualties and minor material losses, but there is still no report on extent of casualties or losses of the stronger Friday morning earthquake.
Iran is often shaken by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
