Farrin Rahimi
was born in Uromieh in Azerbaijan province of
Iran. She moved to U.S. in 1985 where she has lived ever since. She studied
Art at San Jose State University and earned her BFA in Pictorial Art in 1997.
Farrin's main interest is working in mixed media, but she also
experiments with many different forms of art making.
Her inspiration comes from within, and she
absorbs her surroundings that ultimately reflect in her body of work. Farrin
has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows in Northern
California. These include exhibition at SJSU, Open Studios and Iranian-American
Art Show.
Note: Farrin was one of the participants in the
Art Exhibition held by
The Iranian Women's Studies
Foundation (IWSF) in
conjunction with the 19th IWSF 2008 International Conference in Berkeley,
California (July 4-6, 2008). This exhibition was in recognition and appreciation
of Iranian women artists and in celebration of their work.
