Iranian play to debut in Britain's Stratford-on-Avon

Tehran Times Art Desk

TEHRAN -- The Virgule Performing Arts Company will perform its play "Find the Way" at the International Festival for Emerging Artists, which will be held in Stratford-on-Avon from July 7 to 20.

The troupe will leave Iran one week before the festival kicks off to start their final rehearsals in Britain.

The company tried to stage the play at the Tehran City Theater last year, troupe director Arvand Dashtaray told ISNA on Sunday.

However, due to lack of support from the Center for Dramatic Arts, the play will have its debut in Britain, he added.

He explained that the play depicts Iranians' everyday problems from an unbiased point of view.

He went on to say that "Find the Way" will be staged in an interactive mode with live musical accompaniment.

In the play, which is based on the computer game Find the Way, the audience accompanies the actress through each stage.

Sponsored by the International Festivals and Events Association, the gala will be held at Theatre Royal Stratford East and Stratford Circus.

It will include Collaborating sessions, Discovering sessions (expert classes) and also professional performances chosen for their ability to inspire and entertain.
