Join us in paying tribute to our Father Nosratollah Amini

For more than seventy years, Nosratollah Amini has been involved in the politics of and the modernization of Iran.  As a lawyer, a judge, and an Inspector General, he was instrumental in shaping the modern Justice system. He worked alongside Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh in the struggle for the nationalization of Iran's oil industry, while serving as the mayor of Tehran and the Prime Minister's personal attorney.  He spent time in prison for defending the rule of law and freedom.  After the Revolution, he briefly served as Governor of Fars and resigned in protest against the prevailing lawlessness and the infringement on individual rights.

Today, physically weak but sharp of mind, he continues to have hopes for democracy, freedom and securing human rights in Iran.

His friends and family will be gathering to honor him.  The event will feature a number of speakers, as well as video messages from Iran. Part of a documentary titled Ahmad Abad made by Fariba Amini will also be shown.

Dr. Saeid Fatemi, Dr. Ehsan Yarshater, Mrs. Mehrangiz Kar, Akbar Ganji, Dr. Ahmad Karimi Hakak, Mr. Hossein Ebeneyousef, Mohammad Amini, Dr. Rudi Matthee, Dr. Nasser Tahmassebi, and Admiral Amir Houshang Aryanpour.
