PJAK militants kill 3 Iranian policemen

 

PJAK Intensifies Its Struggle for Iranian Kurdistan
06/18/2008 - By Chris Zambelis (from Terrorism Focus, June 18) - A recent upsurge of violence in northwestern Iran between ethnic Kurdish rebels and Iranian Pasdaran (Revolutionary Guards) forces represents the latest chapter in the ongoing tensions between the nationalist dissidents and Tehran. Iranian and Kurdish sources report that the armed wing of the Party for Freedom and Life in Kurdistan (PJAK) mounted a series of attacks against Iranian security forces in northwestern Iran between late May and early June.
Press TV - Members of the PJAK terrorist group have killed three Iranian policemen in an ambush in the country's northwestern Kurdistan province.

The policemen were killed when they came under attack by the terrorists in the Dalani region in the border city of Marivan late Tuesday, a Press TV correspondent in Arbil reported.

Being supplied with sophisticated weaponry by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK) terrorists connive with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and organizes attacks in Iran and Turkey.

The PKK and its offshoot Party PJAK operate mainly in the Qandil Mountains in northern Iraq, from where they launch attacks and bombings in western Iran and southern Turkey.
