Position Description: The National Iranian American Council (NIAC), a Washington DC-based, non-profit, and advocacy organization on behalf of advancing the interests of the Iranian American community nation-wide and pursuing United States diplomacy, not military actions, toward Iran, seeks an experienced and motivated professional to lead the organization's development programs. The largest grassroots Iranian-American organization in the United States, NIAC is the leading voice of the Iranian American community in the corridors of policy making.
The Development Director, who reports directly to NIAC's president and works in close collaboration with the Board of Directors, senior colleagues, and volunteer leadership, is responsible for designing, articulating, executing and expanding, and evaluating all contributed revenue goals of the organization. This includes the annual fundraising campaign, fundraising events around the country, efforts to grow membership, planned giving, and data-based management, all to further NIAC's mission and growth goals.
Requirements: Must have a college degree and a minimum of two years experience in development work with a proven track record in event and volunteer management, donor relations, and fundraising. The successful candidate will have excellent communications and leadership skills. Experience working with the Iranian-American community and knowledge of Persian/Farsi a significant plus.
Salary: In the low 60s to high 70s, based on qualifications and experience. Health insurance, paid vacation, and the opportunity to work in a wonderful office, surrounded by enthusiastic, smart, and energetic young people. The Development Director may work out of the organizations DC or California office.

NIAC also accepts applications for part-time and full-time interns for Spring, Summer, and Fall to operate out of NIAC's Washington DC office. Starting date is late January for Spring interns, late May for Summer interns, and early September for Fall semester interns. NIAC will assist in helping interns get school credit.
