Striker Javad Nekounam scored the opener in the 17th minute to give Iran and early lead at the Azadi Stadium on Sunday.

A late strike by Gholam-reza Rezai doubled Iran's leade in the third minute of the injury time, before 30,000 attendants.

Despite the victory many believe Iran displayed a lackluster performance, blaming it on Ali Daei's line-up.
