Iranian football coach asked to lead Kuwait

Press TV - Officials representing Kuwait Football Association have asked renowned Iranian coach Majid Jalali to steer the country's national team.

According to IRIB, Jalali has not responded to the request yet.

Jalali is currently coaching Iran's Esteqlal Ahvaz team and has signed a contract to stay with the club until the end of the season; he may be considered as the next manager for the country's national team.

The Kuwaiti team was defeated by the United Arab Emirates 2-0 at Asian qualification for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, under the leadership of Croatian coach, Radion Gacanin.

Kuwait is in the same FIFA World Cup qualifying group as Iran, Syria and United Arab Emirates.
