Berlin, March 6, IRNA - 27 Iranian firms are predicating at 42nd International Berlin Tourism Fair (ITB) putting on display tourism capabilities of our country.
Official in charge of international exhibitions' affairs at Iran's Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Organization (CHTHO), Mohammad-Hossein Barzegar, made the comment in an interview with IRNA in Berlin on Wednesday.
He added, "In accordance with the International Tourism Organization (ITO), Iran ranks fifth in the world in terms of possessing natural, cultural, and historical tourism attractions and in our country's Twenty Year Perspective, it is predicted that Iran's annual incomes from tourism industry would be between 25 to 30 US dollars in ten years time, relying on investments made in the field."
Barzin added, "Therefore, the CHTHO, particularly ever since the tenure of the 9th Government, makes special efforts in this field, including Iran's strong presence at various international tourism exhibitions."
He said, "In line with that policy, from September 6th, 2007 to May 5th, 2008, at least twenty Iranian firms involved in tourism activities have taken part, or will participate at twenty six international tourism fairs."
The CHTHO official pointing out that this is the third year that Iran is taking broad part at IBT, added, "At this exhibition the Iranian firms present the enthusiasts 90,000 various types of cultural and propagation items, including printed and audiovisual material, while the Iranian musical troupes play traditional music and sing songs of various Iranian regions for the enthusiasts several hours each day.
He said that one other special feature of Iran's strong presence at this year's Berlin Tourism Fair is the activities of CHTHO's information dissemination office, aimed at presentation of our country's tourism capabilities using the modern information technology (IT) facilities.
