TEHRAN, March 10 (Mehr News Agency) -- In the hustle and bustle of the parliamentary election campaigns, Majlis Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel has turned out to be a theatergoer! Last night, Haddad-Adel along with his family attended a performance of Dürrenmatt's play "The Old Lady's Visit".
This outing seems to be in the line with his campaign for reelection to represent Tehran in the upcoming Majlis.
The German drama, directed by celebrity of Iranian theater Hamid Samandarian, is currently being staged in the main hall of Tehran's City Theater Complex.

"I have no theatrical knowledge, but I perceived this work to be very profound and professional," he told Mehr News Agency after watching the play.
"I think it needs to be seen twice to be comprehended," he added.
He described Samandarian's translation of Dürrenmatt's play "The Old Lady's Visit" as powerful and discerning.
On being asked to assess the status of Iranian stage performances Haddad-Adel said, "Since I am not a regular theatergoer, I am unable to give a precise evaluation."
"Generally speaking, Iranian theater performances in the traditional and European genres are both more frequent and of a higher quality than those staged before the Islamic Revolution," he added.
He promised that the impending Majlis would increase the theater budget and support performances.
