TEHRAN, March
16 (Mehr News Agency) -- Actress Mahtab Keramati, Iranian UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador sent a
message on the occasion of New Year emphasizing the necessity for united efforts
in support of children's rights.
The Noruz letter runs as follows "Many events have
taken place in the past year which marked a turning point both for the children
of Iran and of the world. We celebrated World Children's Day with the motto of
'a world without violence'. This is a theme which is rooted in the five-year
joint project undertaken by Iran and UNICEF which is assisting in the prevention
of child abuse."
The message continues, "We pay our respects to all
those who supported us from both the private and public sectors, artists,
religious leaders and members of the general public and we hope this help will
continue in the future."
The message continues that one of the greatest
benefits of the past year has been the cooperation of religious leaders and Shia
high-ranking ulema.
"Their viewpoints on how to bring up and educate
children without violence have been published in a book," reads part of the
letter.
"I hereby ask everyone to unite in the coming year
and help remove obstacles in the way of securing children's rights. I am sure we
can achieve everything, and with the assistance and the sacrifice of the people
we can move more rapidly. Let's become united in the New Year," the letter ends.
