Tehran, March 23, IRNA -- Head of Police Traffic Control Center Colonel Hossein Alishahi said Sunday that since March 19, when Noruz (New Year) holidays started, there have been 649 road accidents, killing 130 people.

Alishahi told IRNA that 89 of the accidents resulted in deaths and 560 others in injuries.

He said driver carelessness has been the major cause of the incidents.
