PRESS_UTL -- Iraqi Minister of Electricity Karim Wahid al-Hasan says Iran has started supplying electricity to Basra from its port city of Abadan.
Electricity transfer from Iran's Abadan to Basra to compensate for the province's energy shortage has just begun, the Iraqi official told the war-torn country's state-run newspaper al-Sabah.
Iran will provide Basra province electricity at a rate of 200 Megawatts, he continued.
Tehran is making major contributions to the development of the various sectors of Iraq.
