Tehran, March 24, IRNA - Amin Ebrahim Nikfar, Iran's champion in shot put, who lives in the USA, broke Iran's record in this athletic event.

In a competition between the US universities athletes in the State of Arizona on Sunday, Nikfar ranked first and also broke Iran's record.

He threw the weight 19 meters and 58 centimeters and improved Iran's record for one centimeter, which already belonged to Mehdi Shahrokhi.

Amin Ebrahim Nikfar was champion of Asia in 2004 and stood second in shot put competition among Muslim countries in year 2005.

He is among the 30 top shot putters in the world and has been a member of Iran's national team since four years ago.
