Press TV -- A bus overturn in the southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan has left at least 27 people dead and 13 others seriously injured.

The bus, carrying a group of teachers, overturned on the road linking Dehdez to Izeh Monday evening.

An official in Khuzestan's emergency services said that five of the injured are in critical condition.

Approximately 4,000 road accidents occur in Iran every year claiming the lives of over 30,000 people.

The majority of road accidents in Iran are the result of reckless driving and vehicle malfunction.
