Tehran, March 26, IRNA - The parliamentary run-off election will be held on April 25, the Guardian Council said on Wednesday.
In a letter to the Interior Ministry, the Guardian Council announced the date for holding 8th Majlis run-off election.
The date was determined in Majlis session held on 23 March, 2008, according to the Guardian Council.
The first round of Iran's Parliamentary election was held on March 14 throughout the country.
The results in 162 constituencies were declared. The run-off election will be held in 43 constituencies, Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat and Islam Shahr where the candidates could not obtain the quorum in the first round.
In Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat and Islam Shahr constituencies, 19 hopefuls won the majority of votes and the 11 remaining should campaign for the by-election.
Guardian council has approved the election accuracy in 60 constituencies so far.
