Press TV -- Iranian junior Taekwondo practitioners have won nine medals on the first day of the Bahrain International Taekwondo Championship.

The Iranian competitors earned four gold, three silver and two bronze medals.

One hundred and thirty Taekwondo students from Iran, Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon, Sudan, Iraq, Qatar and Syria participated in the event.

The host country, represented by nine Taekwondo schools, bagged a total of 69 medals, including 29 gold, 25 silver and 15 bronze to finish top amongst 12 countries competing from across the region.
